My Life In A Few Words

Life these past few weeks has been such a whirlwind. I have had responsibilities thrust upon, learned new things on multiple occasions, and have been able to test my capabilities. I thought that for this post, I'd give you guys an update on what’s been going on with me. A casual and personal conversation per se. Bear with me; despite it being rather one-sided, I hope you find it interesting and are able to  at least connect with some parts.

Starting September, it wasn't just entering a new grade that has been such a change for me. The weeks into this school year have been incredibly different from those in the past. Extra curricular activities have become increasingly more demanding. At times it can be quite overwhelming, but there are so many positive things that have come out of it.

Being a part of all these clubs, and having responsibilities in them have given me a newfound sense of purpose and accomplishment. I don’t normally do well with idle hands. Despite the hard work, I enjoy having something to devote my time and efforts to. Also, it’s amazing working and meeting all of these like-minded people at my school.
Not to mention, a large amount of my time these past few weeks have been spent buried in a mountain of homework and tests. All I have to say is that you know you’re growing up when you become tired of going out and prioritizing your grades of your own accord.

My piece of advice for all of you which has helped get me through plenty of stressful days is to just imagine yourself when you've completed all your responsibilities and checked every task on your list. It offers a slight glimmer of hope because at one point, you will be done and it is nice looking back on that moment knowing you've succeeded.

I've spent so much of my time this past year waiting and preparing for so many things to happen: the trip to New York, the Leadership Conference, and the beginning of grade 11. In those times, I was always looking forward to something and wasn't too focused on the present. Looking back however, I notice everything that I am so grateful for. I have learned a lot from all of these experiences -- whether it be in preparation, or the actual long anticipated moments.

I find that I've grown a lot as a person as this year has progressed. I hope and look forward to more amazing experiences in the future. I find that every day changes a person (or their thoughts) in a small or large way.

Stay gold,

Anne

  1. I look up to you Anne, although you have many commitments of your own, you don’t let that derail you from who you are. You’ve stayed true to you and I commend you for that! Know that our school community thanks you for everything you’ve done to make it a better place. It’s too easy to focus on the bad about our school, but when I remember the amazing leadership students at our school, it gives me hope. A glimmer of hope.

    1. Aww thank you so much Rahul! This is so sweet and it absolutely made my day. You are honestly such an inspiration and not just to me, but one to so many other people too. Your kindness and positive nature is so admirable, as well as the drive you have in all your pursuits. I hope you know that our school is so lucky to have someone like you who truly cares. All the time and effort is appreciated. You give everything your all and I am so glad to be your friend. With our team of leaders this year I agree, I believe together we can do a lot to better our school community!
