Roamers, Seekers, and Wanderers

Here comes round two. Following-up on last week's post, this second half hones in on the places we stumbled into in between all of the food.

I've always relied on looking through other people's social media posts to direct me to places I want to visit in the future. I'm hoping this post will be a step-up from a geotag with a little more description and a little less Google maps.

Roamers, Seekers, and Eaters

Admittedly, I got a little bit too snap-happy during a trip to downtown with some pals. So much so that I took enough pictures for two posts. So, instead of piling everything in a chaotic blur, I've split up the afternoon into parts.

This first part recounts the food we happily scarfed down, and part two (going up next week) will have the more wandering adventure bits.

Here's to the strong and silent one

Here's to the strongest man that we know, and the quietest. The one with the fewest words, but with the greatest actions. Today, we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for everything that you have done for our family. It seems that thank you will never be enough for all the sacrifices that you have made in order for us to have a bright future. All of your actions often go unacknowledged but there is a quiet nobility in the way that you always put your family before yourself.

To the man who resembles Christ in more ways than one, and to the only man that we seek to impress, we love you more than words can express. Thank you for instilling in us a drive to pursue greatness by always pushing us to aim higher and be better. All of our achievements are rooted in the desire to make you proud of us.

Distance means nothing to those who are strong in faith and in love, and you have been proof of that. Half-way across the world and yet we feel your love for us as if you were standing next to us with your arm around our shoulders protecting us. You are a living superhero who has actually climbed mountains to help others and who's even swam with the sharks in the depths of oceans, but that does not compare to the luckiness that we feel for having you as a father.

Happy birthday, and love always,

Kimberly + Anne

January Favorites: Bring on the New Year

Starting off a new year is both exhilarating and daunting. On one hand, the turn of the calendar marks a blank slate, a fresh-start; on the other, new beginnings mean hopeful anticipation and expectations that make you nervously wonder whether this year will be the year that things are better. Well, when it comes to the dawn of a new year, I always find comfort in stacking my arsenal with some nice little bits and bobs to make me feel a little more prepared for what's to come. So here's a few of my favorite things.

New Year, New Possibilities

Let's welcome the new year with open arms and a head full of anticipation! We're once more back in the month of January which means we'll be seeing a lot more of our dear friend the eraser having accidentally written the wrong year. However, even if it's by accident, I think it's a great opportunity for us to reflect and say thanks to the year that passed. 2015 has been a great companion, and will forever be the trusty holder of all the memories in that period of time. As we gradually slip into the habit of writing 2016 we know that we are ready to dive head first into a new chapter of our lives.
